Brazil Petrobras To Export 605 Million Liter Ethanol In 2008

Brazilian state-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) expects to export 605 million liters of ethanol in 2008, the company’s downstream director said Monday.

Paulo Roberto Costa said that 100 million liters will be shipped to Japan, with the remaining 505 million liters going to the U.S., the local Estado news agency reported. Costa made the comments during a biofuels conference in Rio de Janeiro.
The oil company also expects to end 2008 as a net oil exporter, Costa added, without giving any firm numbers on imports and exports of crude and derivative products.
