Right-Wing Nonsense
By Mr Ethanol | September 9, 2008
Ethanol. All the best experts who aren’t connected with the corn industry agree that ethanol does not save energy, does not help the environment, does not lower gas prices, and causes starvation overseas due to inflated corn prices.
Just about the only group that benefits from ethanol is corn farmers. Well, in Missouri, the 2008 Republican nominee for governor, Kenny Hulshof, strongly supports ethanol mandates. And guess what he does for a living?
That’s right - he’s a corn farmer. I got no response when I suggested to Hulshof’s staff that he donate any profits he personally receives from the ethanol laws he supports to the starving overseas victims of ethanol. It looks like I’ll be voting for a Democrat in a major race for the first time in eight years: Attorney General Jay Nixon.
