Cheap Gas? 4 Websites To Help You Find Lower Prices
Los Angeles Times:
AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report | I go here first to find the definitive national average (today it is $4.08). Then I use the “Select a Market” tool to find out what the local average is. (Today, it is $4.62 for regular in Los Angeles–Long Beach.)

Gas Buddy | This website topped the list of Time magazine’s “50 Best Websites 2008.” I like Gas Buddy because it maps out gas stations by price. Just type in your ZIP Code and see what stations are the cheapest around your neighborhood. If websites are old news to you, get gas prices sent to your mobile phone. This is a grassroots organization and it is currently looking for gas spotters to help check prices.
MSN Autos Gas Prices | I don’t think MSN Autos is as comprehensive as Gas Buddy, but I like its additional tips and info. If you’re thinking about trading in your gas-guzzling SUV, check out the “Top 5 Fuel Efficient Vehicles” and get Green Driving Tips.
Mapquest Gas Prices | In addition to finding you local gas prices, Mapquest also has a Gas Price Calculator to help you figure out how much your road trip will cost you at the pump.
