Ethanol May Be Problem For Boat Owners
By Mr Ethanol | June 11, 2008
KOBI 5:
A lot of area boaters are reporting engine troubles lately and experts think it could be the gas, or more specifically the ethanol blended gas.
At River Marine they’re getting plenty of calls from boat-owners needing repair work.

They say the water in the blended gas is wreaking havoc on engines.
According to Daniel Eadie the master technician at River Marine you will know if you have the problem.
“Usually they start coughing, sputtering and they bring them in and we tell them the fuel has water in it.”
To keep your engine running, experts say you should use a fuel stabilizer, shorten the time between fuel filter changes, and perhaps install a water/fuel separator.
For boat users who want to avoid ethanol, many marinas still sell non-blended gas.
