We Can Still Save From The World Food Crisis

It does not deal with an apocalyptic prophecy anymore. It is now a reality that concerns everybody: the increase on the prices of staple foods might lead the whole world towards a situation of famine.
In different occasions, president Hugo Chávez has warned about the issue in such a manner that food sovereignty might already be considered as a State policy.

In fact, different to other countries, Venezuela may report that it is taking the necessary measures to achieve the agricultural and food independence with its own policies, devised to produce what we eat.
Meanwhile, some of those responsible for the increased on food prices in the planet have started to assume their responsibility and are requesting, lately perhaps, urgent measures to avoid that for the coming years thousand of people die from starvation due to the high cost of foods.
The World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently held different meetings to discuss about the inflation rise, which is made clear in the prices of food and energy. They made it with obvious concern and statements, not so many times observed in officials of these organizations, commonly indifferent towards the human suffering.
