Switchgrass Is Better Source For Ethanol
By Mr Ethanol | November 7, 2007

Post-Bulletin:
A matter that has slipped down from government officials to schools is now in my hands in the economics class: ethanol.
Is it safe? Is it more efficient than oil-based fuel? The answer is yes. Ethanol produces less pollution and decreases greenhouse emissions by 50 percent compared to gasoline. With that being said, it would hurt us more than help us.
It has been proven that ethanol actually consumes more energy than it produces. It is said that ethanol eliminates carbon dioxide gases. However, it has been proven that although it absorbs the carbon dioxide during its “growth,” it is put back into the air when the fuel is burned in an automobile engine.
Depending on where you live, ethanol could be more expensive than gasoline…
