    Regina Leader-Post:
It took some doing, but Saskatchewan’s governing New Democratic Party and the opposition Saskatchewan Party, along with the province’s Liberal Party, have all actually managed to stay as far away as politically possible from ethanol during the ongoing election campaign. This despite the fact that, over the summer. Premier Lorne Calvert announced another in a long list of development initiatives — the $80-million SaskBIO program, which on the ethanol side aims to create a billion-litre/year industry for the province.

This is barely apparent, though, now that the election writ has been dropped. In fact, both NDP and Saskatchewan Party literature are virtually devoid of ethanol references.
