Sparta Ethanol Fued May Finally Be Over After Companies Meet
By Mr Ethanol | October 11, 2007

Wisconsin Ag Connection:
Coulee Area Renewable Energy and Century Foods may have finally settled their difference over a proposed ethanol plant in the city of Sparta. In a joint press release issued to the media this week, the two companies say that CARE will continue to pursue land in the region for their building site, but not next to Century Foods’ plant in the town’s industrial park.
Century officials have fought the project all summer because of the possibility that ethanol pollutants could harm their milk-based products.
Officials say the two companies have reached a tentative settlement on all claims related to their dispute, but many of the details have not been revealed. The press release did not mention where an alternative site would be.
