Ethanol Indy Car Visits The CBOT

On Monday, The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) hosted Team Ethanol Driver Jeff Simmons and his 100 percent fuel-grade ethanol car in a tribute to the “Greening of Racing” and a salute to the IndyCar® Series , a racing series that features one of the premier sporting events in the world, the Indianapolis 500. The Indy Racing League made the move to 100 percent fuel-grade ethanol in 2007. Simmons began the event by driving an IndyCar Series vehicle onto the CBOT Plaza. Following a brief press conference, dignitaries toured the Agricultural Trading Floor.
Those attending the event included: Charlie Carey, Chairman, Chicago Board of Trade; Chris Malo, Executive Vice-President, Marketing and Business Development, CBOT; Terry Angstadt, President IndyCar. Series Tom Slunecka, Exec. Dir., Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC); Jeff Simmons, #17 Team Ethanol Driver; Thomas C. Dorr, Under Secretary for Rural Development; and Patrick Quinn, Illinois Lt. Governor
